You don’t have to write LONG and endlessly, it could be a simple idea or a technique you use that they could use to. Build some of the best tools in your business, make them freely available.. let people sell them or give them away! People LOVE tools.

They like to have something in their hands that helps them get their job done faster and easier. Just make sure you give away reputable tools, ones that actually work (have you seen some of the dross out there lately?) You will build your reputation giving people good quality, useful tools.

Okay, we now move on to actually making our site Search Engine Friendly. This process is called Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) to give it it’s proper name. Ok? Ready?

Preparing Your Site. I guess you’ve heard the phrase “Keywords” before. And you probably know it’s critical that you pick the right words. But you need to find out the actual words and phrases people are actually going to search for.

And you do this by going to a pay per click (PCC) search engine like Overture or e-spotting (now called MIVA) and use their (free to use) keyword checker. Simply type in a keyword you think suitable for your site or blog, and you’ll get a list of all the related search terms people have used in the last month. And that’s where your keywords must come from - actual real people doing actual real internet searches.

Using Keywords: this is a fairly simple operation. Type all your keywords and phrases on a single line in Notepad, with each word or phrase separated by a comma. But you must stop before you reach a total of 255 characters in total, otherwise, if your line is too long with too many characters, many search engines will ignore you.

Example:These are some of my keywords:
motivation,motivational,finance,debt,home,home business,money,cash,makers,how to,family,inspire,inspirational,blog,web,traffic,free,tools,……….etc etc

Keyword Density: This is probably one of the most overlooked parts of SEO , and it’s also the number one reason why good keyword lists seem to have no effect - or perhaps, why sometimes a perfectly good page doesn’t get indexed, but other, inferior pages do. It’s down to keyword density - which basically, is a simple check on how many times each of your keywords actually appears on your page.

Listing your keywords in your meta tags is easy enough, but the search engines only bother with those keywords that actually appear in your text on the page. Meta Tag keywords by themselves are not enough. Important: remember, as every page or post has different text on it, every page or post needsto have different keywords. Build individual keyword lists for every page or post.

Now get your list of phrases from your keyword search engine as before, and compile your own personal list of favourite keywords based on the most popular searches. Once you’ve done this, you’ll need to make sure that every last phrase and word appears at least once (and prefably more) somewhere on the actual page you’re working on. You may have to re-adjust your text on the page to squeeze in those words and phrases in natural sentences.

And don’t be tempted to do the old White on White trick- using white words and phrases on your page so they’re invisible to the naked eye- it get’s you banned from all search engines.

Make Full Use of HTML Full use of HTML coding will make your pages and posts extremely popular with the search engines, but doing so would render your page extremely unfriendly for a human being. The following tips will help you satisfy both the search engines and your human visitors……..

Use H1 Heading Tags As Often As Possible. The HTML Language (Hyper Text Mark Up Language) uses header tags followed by a number from H1 down to H7. They are meant to head up pages and break up long sections of text. The H1 tag is meant to be the page title, and H2 downwards for progressively smaller and less important text.

Most browsers, however, make the H1 headings far too big so no one uses them, instead using H4 which, at 14pt, is a more reasonable size. Now, the search engines pay lots more attention to the H1 tags, so make a point of using the H1 tag with a FONT SIZE tag to bring the heading back to a reasonable size. Like this:(Change the brackets ( and ) to the normal HTML ones, < & > as I can’t print normal HTML on blog pages as it interferes and corrupts my own!

(H1)(fontsize=”3”)My Page Title(/font)(/H1)

Use image ALT tags everywhere. Wherever you’ve got images on your page, make sure you use the ALT property of all your IMG tags to carry more keywords. Now, here’s where you can get really smart. Simply copy this the following, edit it where you need to put your keywords in and paste it as the first line of HTML on every page, not forgetting to change the brackets over:

(body)(img src=”/blank.gif” width=”1” height=”2” border=”0” alt=”your notebook keyword line not exceeding 255 characters”)

Cross Link Every Page & Site Provide links from each page in your site to every other page. Provide links from each of your sites to the others. Why? It’s simple really – when a search engine does index your site or blog, it will follow all your links and index every page and site for you at he same time.

Use Robot Guides. Robot Guides tell the search engine spiders to index and follow all your links. Copy and paste the following code for pasting in the HEAD section of your HTML Page: (Don’t forget to change the brackets over again here!)

(head)
(title)Put a short sentence about your site here!(/title)
(meta name=”description” content =”Put the same sentence above here as well”)
(meta name=”keywords” content=”Put all your keywords here!”)
(meta name=”robots” content=”index, follow”)
(meta name=”distribution” content=”global”)
(meta name=”author” content=”Put your name here”)
(/head)

Use Different Page titles Use a different title for every page you create, using your list of keywords and phrases for that individual page. You need to add a unique and very relevant title to the page, trying to include as many keywords as possible. Once you’ve done that, you need to put the same unique title in three places:

-The (TITLE) tag in the sections
- The (DESCRIPTION) meta tag
- The first (H1) tag on the page itself.

Put Keyword links in every paragraph. Search engines love heavily laden links pages, but only if those links are part of a normal sentence. So, for best results, make each keyword a link which goes to an appropiate page. No appropiate page? No problem, create a glossary or site dictionary page to explain what the word means in plain English, and link to those. The search engines will love them.
